Abstract:There are thousands of Goguryeo city building relics of different sizes, different forms and rich cultural connotations in northeast China, which are characterized by watershed culture and create regional civilization. In order to excavate the artistic value and cultural connotation of Goguryeo Mountain City, and further promote the protection and renewal of Goguryeo Mountain City ruins in a precise and intelligent way, this article starts from the goal of mountain city ruins restoration and digital technology application, expands the research ideas of design, integrates the northern ethnic history, ruins restoration, digital design and other fields, and takes Goguryeo Mountain City in Tieling, Liaoning Province as the research object, conduct on-site research and mapping of the mountain city through digital technologies such as drone tilt photography and 3D laser scanning. Based on the scale, layout, construction, and other aspects of the mountain city, combined with the current situation and detailed characteristics of the existing parts of the mountain city site, a restoration strategy was determined. The digital restoration design was carried out for several key parts, including the wall, pier mouth, city gate, and urn city, providing new ideas for theoretical research in design and the archaeological practice of northern ethnic groups.
